Directions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Blanch the cabbage leaves for 2-3 minutes until softened. Remove and cool.
- In a bowl, mix ground meat, cooked rice, onion, garlic, egg, parsley, thyme, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Place a portion of filling in the center of each cabbage leaf. Roll tightly, tucking in sides to form neat rolls.
- In a saucepan, combine tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, brown sugar, and lemon juice. Simmer over medium heat.
- Arrange the cabbage rolls seam-side down in a large skillet or pot. Pour the tomato sauce over them.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for 30-40 minutes until the cabbage is tender and filling is fully cooked.
- Serve hot with extra tomato sauce drizzled on top.
