🍞 Ingredients

For the Banana Bread Batter:

  • 1 ½ cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 large bananas)

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)

  • ¼ cup milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

For the Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 8 oz (1 block) cream cheese, softened

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour (helps thicken)


🥣 Instructions

1. Preheat & Prep:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan, or line with parchment paper.

2. Make Banana Bread Batter:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together mashed bananas, sugars, egg, oil, milk, and vanilla.

  • In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

  • Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Do not overmix.

3. Make Cream Cheese Filling:

  • In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, vanilla, and flour until smooth and creamy.

4. Assemble the Loaf:

  • Pour half of the banana bread batter into the pan.

  • Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the batter.

  • Pour the remaining banana bread batter on top and gently spread to cover the filling.

5. Bake:

  • Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the banana part (not the cream cheese) comes out clean.

  • Tent with foil halfway through if the top is browning too fast.

6. Cool:

  • Let cool in the pan for 15–20 minutes.

  • Remove and cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
