Ingredients
- 4 thick slices of bread (white or sourdough work well)
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 clove garlic, minced (optional, for garlic butter)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic and parsley if using.
- Spread the butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place a slice of cheese between two slices of bread, buttered sides facing out. Repeat for the second sandwich.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place the sandwiches on the hot skillet. Cook 2–3 minutes per side, pressing lightly with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm.
Would you like me to make it extra cheesy (using a cheese blend) or keep it a classic cheddar only version?
