Grilled Cheese Sandwich (with optional garlic butter)

Ingredients

  • 4 thick slices of bread (white or sourdough work well)
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional, for garlic butter)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic and parsley if using.
  2. Spread the butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place a slice of cheese between two slices of bread, buttered sides facing out. Repeat for the second sandwich.
  4. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  5. Place the sandwiches on the hot skillet. Cook 2–3 minutes per side, pressing lightly with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm.

Would you like me to make it extra cheesy (using a cheese blend) or keep it a classic cheddar only version?
